On 2/15/23 at 10:13 am Westchester Fire Department was dispatched for a residential structure fire on the 10600 block Dorchester Street.
At 10:16 am, Westchester apparatus arrived on the scene reported a working house fire. At that time Chief 25 requested a MABAS (mutual aid box alarm system) Box 100, bringing in additional agencies to assist with the fire. All residents had exited safely and advised that the fire was in basement of the house. Firefighters quickly located and extinguished the fire. There were no injuries, but serious damage was sustained to the structure. The cause of the fire is under investigation at this time.
Assistance was received from Hillside, Broadview, Berkeley, Bellwood, Maywood, Elmhurst and North Riverisde Fire Departments. Melrose Park and Berwyn Fire Department provided coverage to Westchester Fire Stations during the fire.
