On Monday, December 11, 2023 at approximately 1107 hours Westchester Police responded to 2128 Mannheim Road for a retail theft in progress.
Responding Officers observed the subject on the 10300 block of Crestwood Drive and subsequently took the subject into custody. Police reviewed surveillance video, which shows the subject walking out of the north rear door with a shopping cart filled of merchandise.
Roosevelt Bennett 65, Chicago, was taken into custody by Police. Cook County States Attorney Office was contacted and Bennett was charged with one felony count of Burglary. Bennett was transported to the 4th District Cook County Courthouse in Maywood for a bond hearing.
The public is reminded that all persons are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law
