In recent week the Westchester Police Department has received calls about solicitors in the area. The only active solicitor permits on file with the Police Department are for United Meters Incorporated who are doing the meter replacement work in the Village.
Citizen are reminded that solicitors that are registered with the Village of Westchester should have their issued identification card from the Village to show. Also, it shall be unlawful for any person to go in or upon any residence or nonresidential premises for the purpose of conducting any form of solicitation without an approved permit on file with the Police Department. Below is an example of solicitor permits that are issued by the Police Department. Citizens are asked to contact the Westchester Police Department if the solicitors are in violation or have any questions.
