Preventing underground utility line damage starts with education. To promote damage prevention, JULIE has created a new educational initiative for our member utilities. Using
this toolkit, learn how a simple change to your utility marking flag design can educate the public on the importance of safe digging. Our artwork template contains a QR Code and URL link to
DigSafeIllinois.com, an informational landing page that explains what the different
color flags and/or markings mean and the importance of safe digging. These flags are currently being used by Comcast, AT&T and ComEd.
